What has to be true first
Yoast SEO must be installed and active on WordPress 6.9 or later. All three abilities check the wpseo_manage_options capability, so only users allowed to manage Yoast SEO settings can call them.
- Each score ability only registers while its matching Yoast analysis is enabled: SEO analysis for get-seo-scores, readability analysis for get-readability-scores, inclusive language analysis for get-inclusive-language-scores. All three are on by default but can be turned off in Yoast's settings, and inclusive language analysis also requires the site language to have inclusive-language support.
Yoast SEO also has a built-in integration
Beyond what the Bridge discovers here, Agent Abilities for MCP also maintains its own built-in integration for Yoast SEO, which we build and keep up to date ourselves rather than read from Yoast SEO's code. See the built-in Yoast SEO abilities.
A note on the count below
The source also defines get-post-seo-data and update-post-seo-data ability registration methods, but register_abilities() never calls them, so those two abilities do not actually register.
The 3 Yoast SEO abilities
Grouped by what each one can change. Every one starts off until you enable it.

How to switch these on
Four steps from two active plugins to a governed connection.
Install Yoast SEO and Agent Abilities for MCP
Both plugins need to be active on the same WordPress site. Yoast SEO registers its own abilities; this plugin discovers and governs them.
Open the Other plugins screen
In Agent Abilities for MCP, open the Bridge tab (labeled "Other plugins" in the admin). Abilities from every registered plugin appear there, grouped by the plugin that registered them.
Enable one ability at a time
Every ability from Yoast SEO starts off. Turn on only the ones you want an agent to reach, or enable the whole set in one click.
Connect as a least-privilege user
Approve the connection as a WordPress account scoped to what you actually want the agent to do. Each call still re-checks that account’s capability before it runs.

An agent can read and update a post's SEO title, description, focus keyword and canonical URL, find posts missing SEO data or with low TruSEO scores, manage custom robots.txt rules, and pull a homepage or site-wide SEO audit.
An agent can read and update a post's on-page SEO fields, find posts missing SEO data or ranked by SEO score, and pull homepage, site-wide, and sitemap audit snapshots.
Verified from Yoast SEO's own free wordpress.org code on 28 September 2026, not from its marketing claims. Not every ability listed here has been run end to end against a live site. Plugin authors change their code, so a name, a capability, or a condition can be different in a later release. This site is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Yoast or Yoast SEO.
