Elementor Website Builder abilities, governed through the Bridge

An agent can read and edit the structure of Elementor-built pages, list and inspect widget and component schemas, manage the site's shared global CSS classes and design-token variables, build whole page layouts from a composition description, and publish or preview documents.

What has to be true first

Elementor must be installed and active on WordPress 6.8 or later. Most abilities check the 'edit_posts' capability, publishing and page creation check post-specific capabilities, and managing global variables, default styles, classes, or components generally requires 'manage_options' or an Elementor-specific class-editing capability.

  • Elementor's V4 (Atomic) editor feature and, for some abilities, a paid licence tier must be enabled for those abilities to run without an availability error, even though they still appear in the registry

A note on the count below

Elementor's own bundled MCP module (with its own transport/adapter) registers 27 abilities in this version; easymcp's count of 5 reflects a much earlier release and is stale.

How to switch these on

Four steps from two active plugins to a governed connection.

  1. Install Elementor Website Builder and Agent Abilities for MCP

Both plugins need to be active on the same WordPress site. Elementor Website Builder registers its own abilities; this plugin discovers and governs them.

  2. Open the Other plugins screen

In Agent Abilities for MCP, open the Bridge tab (labeled "Other plugins" in the admin). Abilities from every registered plugin appear there, grouped by the plugin that registered them.

  3. Enable one ability at a time

Every ability from Elementor Website Builder starts off. Turn on only the ones you want an agent to reach, or enable the whole set in one click.

  4. Connect as a least-privilege user

Approve the connection as a WordPress account scoped to what you actually want the agent to do. Each call still re-checks that account’s capability before it runs.

Frequently asked questions

Does Elementor Website Builder work with the Bridge?

Conditionally. Elementor registers all 27 abilities unconditionally once its bundled MCP module is active, but many of them (the V4/Atomic Editor and component family) return an availability error at call time until that editor feature and, for some, the right licence tier are enabled.

What has to be true for Elementor Website Builder's abilities to register?

Elementor's V4 (Atomic) editor feature and, for some abilities, a paid licence tier must be enabled for those abilities to run without an availability error, even though they still appear in the registry.

Does Elementor Website Builder need anything special to work with the Bridge?

Elementor must be installed and active on WordPress 6.8 or later. Most abilities check the 'edit_posts' capability, publishing and page creation check post-specific capabilities, and managing global variables, default styles, classes, or components generally requires 'manage_options' or an Elementor-specific class-editing capability.

More Page builders plugins

Once enabled, an agent can read and manage HFE header/footer/block templates and Elementor pages end to end: list, create, update, duplicate, delete and restore templates and pages, build and edit Elementor layouts widget by widget, toggle widgets and extensions, set display rules and theme compatibility, read the site's design tokens, and clear the Elementor CSS cache.
