An agent can list, create, update, and delete WooCommerce products, and list orders, add order notes, or change an order's status, all through the same REST layer as the wc/v3 API.
Merchant abilities, governed through the Bridge
An agent can list and read Merchant's merchandising modules, campaigns, analytics, and recommendations, and, once the site enables MCP write access, toggle modules, manage campaigns, and read or update per-product settings such as pre-orders and add-to-cart text.

What has to be true first
Merchant and WordPress 6.9 or later must both be active for these abilities to appear in the registry. Reads require manage_woocommerce; toggle-module requires manage_options; the two product-settings abilities also run a WooCommerce read or edit check on the specific product.
- merchant/get-product-settings and merchant/update-product-settings only register when WooCommerce is active
- The 5 write abilities (toggle-module, update-module-settings, create-campaign, update-campaign, delete-campaign) and update-product-settings still register without it, but their permission check refuses every call until the site turns on the wpvibe_mcp_write_access option, off by default

How to switch these on
Four steps from two active plugins to a governed connection.
Install Merchant and Agent Abilities for MCP
Both plugins need to be active on the same WordPress site. Merchant registers its own abilities; this plugin discovers and governs them.
Open the Other plugins screen
In Agent Abilities for MCP, open the Bridge tab (labeled "Other plugins" in the admin). Abilities from every registered plugin appear there, grouped by the plugin that registered them.
Enable one ability at a time
Every ability from Merchant starts off. Turn on only the ones you want an agent to reach, or enable the whole set in one click.
Connect as a least-privilege user
Approve the connection as a WordPress account scoped to what you actually want the agent to do. Each call still re-checks that account’s capability before it runs.

Frequently asked questions
Does Merchant work with the Bridge?
Yes. It registers 10 abilities under the merchant/ namespace unconditionally, plus 2 more when WooCommerce is active, all with real annotations, so the Bridge can list and switch on each one.
What has to be true for Merchant's abilities to register?
merchant/get-product-settings and merchant/update-product-settings only register when WooCommerce is active. The 5 write abilities (toggle-module, update-module-settings, create-campaign, update-campaign, delete-campaign) and update-product-settings still register without it, but their permission check refuses every call until the site turns on the wpvibe_mcp_write_access option, off by default.
Does Merchant need anything special to work with the Bridge?
Merchant and WordPress 6.9 or later must both be active for these abilities to appear in the registry. Reads require manage_woocommerce; toggle-module requires manage_options; the two product-settings abilities also run a WooCommerce read or edit check on the specific product.

Verified from Merchant's own free wordpress.org code on 28 September 2026, not from its marketing claims. Not every ability listed here has been run end to end against a live site. Plugin authors change their code, so a name, a capability, or a condition can be different in a later release. This site is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Syed Balkhi or Merchant.
