What each one optimizes for
The two plugins pull in different directions on purpose. Here is the honest shape of each.
Easy MCP sells breadth. It advertises the most tools, exposes them broadly the moment you install, and adds connectors that pull SEO and analytics data from outside providers into your agent. If your goal is the widest possible reach on day one, that is a real strength.
Agent Abilities sells governance. Nothing is exposed until you switch it on, the agent connects as a real WordPress user with only that user's permissions, every call is re-checked and written to an audit log in your own database, and the plugin makes no outbound calls of its own. Easy MCP ships connectors for Google Analytics, Search Console, DataForSEO, Semrush, SE Ranking, and Ahrefs, so an agent can pull that data into WordPress. We have nothing equivalent, by choice.
Raw tool count
Easy MCP advertises 242 tools plus a large auto-discovered directory. Our catalog is smaller. We think a governed, honestly documented set is the better trade, but the bigger number is theirs.
A comparable identity model
Easy MCP binds its bearer token to a WordPress user and checks that user’s capabilities, which is the same shape as ours. Identity is not a win for either of us here, and we would rather say that than imply an edge we do not have. The daylight between the two plugins is default posture and outbound calls.
