What has to be true first
Requires WordPress 6.2 or newer with the Abilities API present. Reading and exporting media data needs the upload_files capability, while report scheduling and notification settings need manage_options; a per-tool configurable role check runs in addition to that fixed capability floor.
- The WordPress Abilities API functions (wp_register_ability, wp_register_ability_category) must exist
- Each tool is enabled by default except import-attachments-alt, send-report and update-notification-settings, which ship disabled until an admin turns them on in the plugin's Tools settings screen
- The admin can also raise or lower each tool's minimum role above its hard capability floor

How to switch these on
Four steps from two active plugins to a governed connection.
Install Bubuku Media Library and Agent Abilities for MCP
Both plugins need to be active on the same WordPress site. Bubuku Media Library registers its own abilities; this plugin discovers and governs them.
Open the Other plugins screen
In Agent Abilities for MCP, open the Bridge tab (labeled "Other plugins" in the admin). Abilities from every registered plugin appear there, grouped by the plugin that registered them.
Enable one ability at a time
Every ability from Bubuku Media Library starts off. Turn on only the ones you want an agent to reach, or enable the whole set in one click.
Connect as a least-privilege user
Approve the connection as a WordPress account scoped to what you actually want the agent to do. Each call still re-checks that account’s capability before it runs.

Frequently asked questions
Does Bubuku Media Library work with the Bridge?
Yes. The plugin registers eleven fixed abilities through a Tools_Loader that autoloads each includes/tools/class-tool-*.php file and calls wp_register_ability() on the WordPress Abilities API init hook.
What has to be true for Bubuku Media Library's abilities to register?
The WordPress Abilities API functions (wp_register_ability, wp_register_ability_category) must exist. Each tool is enabled by default except import-attachments-alt, send-report and update-notification-settings, which ship disabled until an admin turns them on in the plugin's Tools settings screen. The admin can also raise or lower each tool's minimum role above its hard capability floor.
Does Bubuku Media Library need anything special to work with the Bridge?
Requires WordPress 6.2 or newer with the Abilities API present. Reading and exporting media data needs the upload_files capability, while report scheduling and notification settings need manage_options; a per-tool configurable role check runs in addition to that fixed capability floor.

Verified from Bubuku Media Library's own free wordpress.org code on 28 September 2026, not from its marketing claims. Not every ability listed here has been run end to end against a live site. Plugin authors change their code, so a name, a capability, or a condition can be different in a later release. This site is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Luis Ruiz or Bubuku Media Library.
