What has to be true first

aThemes Addons for Elementor needs to be installed and active, with its abilities setting turned on, on WordPress 6.9 or later. Every ability checks the edit_posts capability, with the four editing abilities also needing the plugin's separate write setting turned on.

  • A master setting (athemes_addons_abilities_enabled, off by default) must be turned on before any ability registers
  • A separate write setting (athemes_addons_abilities_allow_writes, off by default) must also be turned on before insert-widget, update-widget, remove-widget or move-widget register; with it off only the five read abilities exist

How to switch these on

Four steps from two active plugins to a governed connection.

  1. Install aThemes Addons for Elementor and Agent Abilities for MCP

Both plugins need to be active on the same WordPress site. aThemes Addons for Elementor registers its own abilities; this plugin discovers and governs them.

  2. Open the Other plugins screen

In Agent Abilities for MCP, open the Bridge tab (labeled "Other plugins" in the admin). Abilities from every registered plugin appear there, grouped by the plugin that registered them.

  3. Enable one ability at a time

Every ability from aThemes Addons for Elementor starts off. Turn on only the ones you want an agent to reach, or enable the whole set in one click.

  4. Connect as a least-privilege user

Approve the connection as a WordPress account scoped to what you actually want the agent to do. Each call still re-checks that account’s capability before it runs.

Frequently asked questions

Does aThemes Addons for Elementor work with the Bridge?

Conditionally. A registrar loads two ability groups (widgets, pages) through a shared wrapper that calls wp_register_ability for each entry, but the whole feature is off until the site owner turns on its abilities setting, and the four editing abilities need a second write setting turned on as well.

What has to be true for aThemes Addons for Elementor's abilities to register?

A master setting (athemes_addons_abilities_enabled, off by default) must be turned on before any ability registers. A separate write setting (athemes_addons_abilities_allow_writes, off by default) must also be turned on before insert-widget, update-widget, remove-widget or move-widget register; with it off only the five read abilities exist.

Does aThemes Addons for Elementor need anything special to work with the Bridge?

aThemes Addons for Elementor needs to be installed and active, with its abilities setting turned on, on WordPress 6.9 or later. Every ability checks the edit_posts capability, with the four editing abilities also needing the plugin's separate write setting turned on.
