An agent can list and audit the site's custom code snippets, detect snippet errors, read WPCode's error log, and search its snippet library, all without the raw snippet code ever being exposed.
AgentMod abilities, governed through the Bridge
An agent can manage most of a WordPress site end to end: posts, pages, patterns, block templates and global styles, taxonomy terms, plugins, themes, users, core settings and options, plus registering custom post types, taxonomies, options pages, and their meta fields through the bundled Native Custom Fields abilities.

What has to be true first
Needs WordPress 7.0 or newer with AgentMod active. Capability requirements track the WordPress area touched: edit_posts for content, patterns, and taxonomy reads, edit_theme_options for templates and global styles, activate_plugins/install_plugins/delete_plugins for the plugin group, switch_themes/install_themes/delete_themes for the theme group, list_users/edit_users/delete_users for the user group, and manage_options for settings, options, cron, and every Native Custom Fields ability.
- The 10 native-custom-fields/* abilities come from a bundled vendor library and register whenever AgentMod is active, not from a separate plugin
A note on the count below
The Taxonomy (6) and Site Management (24) services declare full readonly/destructive/idempotent triples, read directly from the source, so their risk here is taken from the explicit flags rather than inferred. The main content/template/pattern service (AbilityRegistrarService, 19 abilities) only ever sets a readonly key with no destructive key at all, so every one of its readonly:false abilities (add-or-update-template, add-or-update-template-part, create-post, update-post, update-pattern, duplicate-pattern, create-pattern, update-global-styles) falls to destructive under the strict no-explicit-destructive-false rule. The 10 native-custom-fields/* abilities all set destructive:false explicitly, so they classify as write. 6 + 24 + 19 + 10 = 59, the corrected total (the draft's own bridge_reason text had an arithmetic slip, writing 39 rather than 49 for the plugin's own count).

How to switch these on
Four steps from two active plugins to a governed connection.
Install AgentMod and Agent Abilities for MCP
Both plugins need to be active on the same WordPress site. AgentMod registers its own abilities; this plugin discovers and governs them.
Open the Other plugins screen
In Agent Abilities for MCP, open the Bridge tab (labeled "Other plugins" in the admin). Abilities from every registered plugin appear there, grouped by the plugin that registered them.
Enable one ability at a time
Every ability from AgentMod starts off. Turn on only the ones you want an agent to reach, or enable the whole set in one click.
Connect as a least-privilege user
Approve the connection as a WordPress account scoped to what you actually want the agent to do. Each call still re-checks that account’s capability before it runs.

Frequently asked questions
Does AgentMod work with the Bridge?
Yes. Its 59 abilities (49 of its own across three services plus 10 bundled from the vendored Native Custom Fields library) are registered in the core Abilities API with no meta.mcp.public requirement and no own MCP server, so the Bridge is the natural way to expose them.
What has to be true for AgentMod's abilities to register?
The 10 native-custom-fields/* abilities come from a bundled vendor library and register whenever AgentMod is active, not from a separate plugin.
Does AgentMod need anything special to work with the Bridge?
Needs WordPress 7.0 or newer with AgentMod active. Capability requirements track the WordPress area touched: edit_posts for content, patterns, and taxonomy reads, edit_theme_options for templates and global styles, activate_plugins/install_plugins/delete_plugins for the plugin group, switch_themes/install_themes/delete_themes for the theme group, list_users/edit_users/delete_users for the user group, and manage_options for settings, options, cron, and every Native Custom Fields ability.
More Developer plugins
An agent can look up the expected value format for a field type, then read, write, or delete a specific custom field's value on a post, term, user, comment, or settings page.
An agent can list, read, create, update, duplicate, export, import, trash, and restore SCF field groups, individual fields, custom post types, taxonomies, and options pages, and, once the site turns on AI Access, list and register field groups, post types, and taxonomies under a second acf/* ability set plus create, read, update, and delete records of any post type or taxonomy the site opts in.
Verified from AgentMod's own free wordpress.org code on 28 September 2026, not from its marketing claims. Not every ability listed here has been run end to end against a live site. Plugin authors change their code, so a name, a capability, or a condition can be different in a later release. This site is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Kadim Gültekin or AgentMod. Every ability starts off, is scoped to the user you connect, and is written to the same audit log as core. Turn on only what you need.
